Welcome to the world of Sound Healing Facilitation
One of the most common questions I receive from students is, “What instruments should I buy?”
My advice is simple: start small and within budget.
There is no need to purchase every instrument at once. In fact, I encourage new facilitators to begin with a few foundational instruments and build their collection over time. As your practice evolves, you’ll naturally discover which sounds, frequencies, and instruments resonate most deeply with you and the experiences you wish to create.
The resources on this page are intended to provide guidance and inspiration for your sound healing journey. This is not an exhaustive list of every instrument available, but rather a curated collection of instruments, tools, books, and resources that I have used, recommend, or believe may be valuable as you continue learning and growing as a facilitator.
Remember, it is not the size of your collection that creates a meaningful experience—it is your presence, intention, and ability to hold space.
Most importantly, please know that I am here as a resource for your journey. No question is too small, too simple, or too silly. Your questions are always welcome, always valid, and often the same questions many others are wondering as well.
Crystal Singing Bowl Sets
One question I hear often is whether Amazon crystal singing bowls are “good enough” to begin with. The short answer is YES!.
Over the years, manufacturing technology has improved significantly, and many of today’s bowl sets are surprisingly well-made for the price. Most are tuned reasonably close to pitch and are more than adequate for learning, practicing, and even facilitating small group experiences. (Don’t worry—we’ll talk more about pitch, tuning, and cents later in the program.)
Personally, I prefer 440 Hz tuning, though you will also learn more about this as we progress through the training. If you come across a set tuned to 432 Hz, that’s perfectly fine as well. There is a lot of discussion around these tuning systems, but neither will prevent you from becoming an effective facilitator.
The bowl sets in this section are all within a similar price range and offer excellent value for those just getting started. One of the biggest advantages of many Amazon sets is that they often include carrying cases, mallets, and accessories, which can save you a significant amount of money compared to purchasing everything separately.
I’ve also included a smaller three-bowl option for those who are looking for a simple setup for personal practice, yoga classes, or smaller offerings. Remember, you do not need a large collection of instruments to create meaningful experiences. Start with the basics, learn your instruments well, and allow your collection to grow naturally over time.
As always, if you have questions about any of the instruments or aren’t sure what might be the best fit for your goals and budget, please reach out. I am always happy to help guide you along the way.
